Wind from the north,

Gray snow clouds near,

Afternoon, cold, dry, clear,

Daylight steadily fading

This last day of the year...

Crowds in frantic pace,

Little loose cannon kids

Bouncing all over the place,

Fast forward minutes

Into hours tumble, contend,

Racing to some kind of

Climax, ere the year's end...

Gaseous State

Some days are like

The blind leading the blind,

Searching for something

You cannot find,

Moving forward

While falling behind...

A Piece Of Peace

Pause from the daily grind,

Daydream about nothing,

No problem, never mind...

Gift-wrap Tragedy

Beautiful, lovingly packaged

Presents, under the Christmas tree,

Festive wrapping paper soon

To be destroyed with holiday glee,

What took so long to fold and tape,

Gets torn apart instantaneously...

Hot red sports car driven by a geezer

Who has money, because he can,

But the lonely oldster wishes he

Could have owned it as a younger man...

Over and over, without fail,

Sonic torture for the minimum

Wage workers, trapped in retail...

Not much locally seems amiss
